Why SOLABC 2026 Matters

Taking Flight through LIPA-D

The South Luzon Area Business Conference (SOLABC) is the flagship convergence of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry's South Luzon area — uniting local chambers, MSMEs, corporations, LGUs, and the academe across CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.

For its 35th edition, PCCI Lipa City takes the host chamber's seat with a theme built on a beautiful double meaning: lipad — the Filipino word for flight — and LIPA-D: Leadership, Innovation, and Partnerships for Accelerated Development.

Two days of plenaries, business matching, policy dialogues, and Batangueño fellowship — designed to send every delegate home with deals signed, partners gained, and a region lifted.

Beyond the Conference

Discover South Luzon

Fly in for the conference, stay for the region. Eight signature destinations curated by the host chamber — each with the reason it earns your itinerary, and one-tap directions from the conference venue in Lipa City.

Taal Volcano & Lake

Why it's the icon of the region: the world-famous "volcano within a lake within a volcano" — the very landmark on the SOLABC banner. Best viewed from the Tagaytay ridge or the Talisay lakeshore, ideally at golden hour.

Getting there: ~45–60 min from Lipa via STAR Tollway to Tanauan, then the Talisay lakeshore road; or 1.5 hrs to the Tagaytay viewing ridge.

Taal Heritage Town

Why it's a must: the "Vigan of the South" — ancestral bahay-na-bato streets, the balisong and barong embroidery ateliers, and the Basilica of St. Martin de Tours, the largest Catholic church in Asia.

Getting there: ~45 min from Lipa via the Diversion Road and Taal–Lemery corridor. Walkable heritage core; kalesa rides available at the plaza.
Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian, Lipa CityPhoto: Wikimedia CommonsBatangas · Lipa

The Lipa Barako Coffee Trail

Why it belongs on every delegate's list: you are in the coffee capital of the Philippines. Trace kapeng barako from farm to roastery to third-wave café — the same liberica heritage that once made Lipa one of the richest towns in the colonial Philippines.

Getting there: you're already here — cafés, roasters, and the Carmelite monastery are 10–20 minutes from the conference venue around the Lipa city core.
Sunset over the Anilao dive coast, MabiniPhoto: Wikimedia CommonsBatangas · Mabini

Anilao, Mabini — The Dive Capital

Why divers fly across the world for it: Anilao sits in the Verde Island Passage, the documented center of the center of global marine biodiversity. World-class macro photography, vibrant reefs, and resorts from boutique to luxury.

Getting there: ~1 hr 15 min from Lipa via STAR Tollway to Batangas City, then the Mabini coastal road. Day-trip friendly; overnight recommended for two dives.
Laiya Beach, San Juan, BatangasPhoto: Wikimedia CommonsBatangas · San Juan

Laiya, San Juan

Why it's South Luzon's favorite shoreline: the nearest long stretch of fine cream-sand beach to Metro Manila and CALABARZON — resort rows, watersports, and team-retreat venues that pair perfectly with a post-conference unwind.

Getting there: ~1 hr 15 min from Lipa via Rosario and the San Juan highway — an easy drive east through Batangas farm country.
Batangas · Nasugbu

Caleruega Church & Gardens

Why it's beloved: a hilltop Spanish-mission-style sanctuary with sweeping gardens and ridge views toward Batulao — the region's most photographed retreat and wedding destination, and a serene counterpoint to two days of dealmaking.

Getting there: ~1.5 hrs from Lipa via the Tagaytay–Nasugbu highway; pairs naturally with the Taal ridge drive.

Pagsanjan Falls

Why it's a national treasure: the legendary "shooting the rapids" canoe ride through a jungle gorge to a thundering three-drop waterfall — one of the oldest and most thrilling eco-tourism experiences in the Philippines.

Getting there: ~2 hrs from Lipa via Calamba and the Laguna lakeshore towns; licensed bangkeros launch from Pagsanjan and Cavinti.
Villa Escudero Plantations, Tiaong, QuezonPhoto: Wikimedia CommonsQuezon · Tiaong

Villa Escudero Plantations

Why the world knows it: lunch at the foot of a flowing dam, carabao-cart rides through a working coconut hacienda, and a living museum of Filipino culture — the definitive South Luzon heritage-plantation experience.

Getting there: ~50 min from Lipa via the Lipa–San Pablo road toward Tiaong, on the Batangas–Quezon boundary.
